Daniel Weightman
Ministry Coordinator-Nassau
Originally from Pittsburgh, Dan has served as a youth pastor both stateside and abroad. A position with Young Life brought him to the Bahamas in 1999, where he has lived and served since, first on Long Island and now in Nassau. After finishing a master’s thesis on responsible missions and indigenous ministry, God led Dan and his wife Kelly to start the Bahamas Youth Network. An ordained minister with the Evangelical Ministerial Association, Dan coordinates the BYN and works to partner with other organizations to further the Kingdom.
Kelly Weightman
Ministry Coordinator – Nassau
Kelly has served in youth ministry in the Bahamas since 1999 with her husband, Dan. She is a native of Pittsburgh and earned a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College. Since moving to Nassau in 2013, Kelly’s main emphasis is on college campus ministry, developing partnerships, mentoring, and coordinating discipleship among college students.
Bob Mastin
Ministry Coordinator-Nassau
Bob is a veteran of student ministry for 15 years, serving originally in Upstate New York before joining the BYN in Nassau in 2017. Bob earned his bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and is an ordained minister through the Evangelical Ministerial Association. He and his wife Donna, who serves alongside Bob, have three grown children.
Barret Hendrickson
Ministry Coordinator – Abaco
Barrett grew up in Pittsburgh, and after graduating from Geneva College, he served in both the youth ministry and worship ministry at Hebron Church, where he had grown up attending. Barrett earned his Master’s of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. In addition to his role with BYN, Barrett is the senior pastor at Kirk of the Pines and leads worship there.
Carrie Hendrickson
Ministry Coordinator-Abaco
Carrie grew up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh and graduated from Geneva College. She spent 19 years on staff at Hebron Church, including as the Director of Student Ministry. Carrie brings years of experience teaching and discipling students, and building leadership teams. She also has a background in art.
Emma Boyer
Outreach & School Ministry Coordinator- Abaco
After graduating from Geneva College with a degree in Elementary and Special Education, Emma moved to Marsh Harbor to be a fifth-grade teacher at Agape Christian School and to be part of the BYN team in Abaco. Emma has a passion for educating children and inspiring them to reach their full potential. As a teacher and youth ministry leader, she creates thriving environments for young people to meet and know the Lord. She loves seeing young leaders reach their full potential as image-bearers of Christ.
Walter Charlton
High School Ministry Supervisor
Walter and his wife Sherell have been leading the Nassau division of G2 in several locations over the past few years. This young couple is dedicated to engaging youth and empowering them to thrive despite circumstances. On any given week you can find scores of teenagers flocking to one of BYN’s locations to be mentored, and challenged by them both. Their precious baby girl has joined the mission as well.
Tonica Gardiner
University Ministry Director
Tonica holds a degree in Economics and Finance, but her true passion lies in youth ministry. Following her Milagros internship, she joined the Nassau staff. Her dedication to the work at the university leaves a lasting impact on the life of her students. Her passion for youth is evident through her efforts to connect with young people, and to connect young people to Jesus. Through her leadership, she encourages teens to explore their faith, ask questions, and find their purpose.
Alexa Dean
University Ministry Director
A former Milagros intern, Alexa excels in the swimming and fitness industry. As she pursues her Masters degree, she assists with University outreach, coordinating and leading various bible studies and sessions for the BYN. She is a loyal, committed partner to the mission.
De'Verne Neely
Student Ministry Coordinator-Nassau
De’Verne is currently pursuing her masters degree in Developmental Psychology, but her undergraduate degree in Education serves the ministry well. Affectionately called “Day”, she is a consistent face at high school campuses and both G2 and G3 meetings. She is passionate about serving and sharing and has made an indelible mark on her students and mentees at BYN.
Victor Roberts
High School Ministry Director – Nassau
Victor has been involved in youth ministry for the past 20 years and has served as Pastor and Youth Pastor in Abaco and Nassau. Dedicated to the work, his heart is for service of youth.
